Raica Oliveira was born on January 22, 1984 in the city of Niteroi, Brazil, just across the bay from the hottest peninsula in the world, Rio de Janeiro. The black-haired, olive-skinned Raica (pronounced "Hi-ka") knew by age 10 that she would be a model.
Biography and Career :
She provides further proof that the place for stunning, sun-sanctified women is Brazil, currently among the world's leading exporters of beautiful models.
But it's not just her looks that she has going for her. Like many of her countrywomen, Raica Oliveira displays an exuberance and love for life, making her that much more of a pleasure to watch and work with.
She is young, rich and famous, but still maintains a joyful innocence and
modesty about herself.
This appealing personality aside, the mere sight of Raica Oliveira on billboards and magazines makes us want to get slicked up at the fashion stores and buy the first plane ticket to her native Brazil.
She was one of the most talked about models of the season alongside fellow Elite stars Adriana Lima, Maggie Rizer, Oluchi and Karen Elson, and she continued so the seasons later on.
In February 2007 she appeared in Sports Illustrated. She is good friends with fellow Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima and Brazilian top model Ana Beatriz Barros. In March 2007 Oliveira joined IMG Paris and she also appeared in Ann Taylor advertisements. On September 2007 she appeared in Bandolino ads which was featured in Vogue and INStyle. She is the new face of Avon.
Raica Oliveira was born in the city of Niteri, Brazil, just across the bay from the hottest peninsula in the world, Rio de Janeiro. Born on January 22, 1984, the black-haired, olive-skinned Raica (pronounced "Hi-ka") knew by age 10 that she would be a model.
Her career started in 1999, when she entered the Elite Model Look contest in Brazil. The 15-year-old stunner beat out no less than 30,000 girls for the winner's title. She was promptly hauled to Nice, France for the final international competition, where she won second place.
WHY IS SHE FAMOUS
By age 17, Raica had risen to the upper echelons of the modeling world, lending her face to campaigns for Dior, Calvin Klein and Valentino, and editorials in Elle, Vogue and Cosmopolitan.
Raica Oliveira Quote
" Here I can work and make money. In Brazil, all I would do is study."
80 SEX APPEAL
Raica, though 20, still maintains an adolescent spark -- not quite the naive allure of some of Hollywood's teen stars, but more a distilled purity of young beauty. She's tall and thin with perfectly tanned skin and an innocent yet seductive look, helped by those shiny fleshy lips. She is, in essence, the archetypal brunette on the sands of Rio who seems oblivious to the fact that every man within a 200-meter radius wants her. She has the goods and shows them without flaunting them. And that is very sexy.
81 SUCCESS
In a country where being a model is every young girl's dream, Raica Oliveira's life is one come true. At age 15 she entered the Elite model agency's ultra-competitive search for Brazil's hot new face. 30,000 girls showed up, and Raica won hands down. Then it was off to the finals in Nice, France, where the winner of each entry nation went head-to-head. We're talking women considered the most stunning in their countries, who likely beat out just as many as Raica. She came out second. Not a bad start.
Soon she was off parading through the world, in the fashion meccas of Paris, Milan, New York, and So Paulo. Top designers lined up to solicit her face. Christian Dior secured her first, followed by Salvatore Ferragamo, Emanuel Ungaro, Valentino, and Ralph Lauren, among many, many others.
She said she'd keep modeling until 22, which leaves two more years of looking forward to the next billboard, or secretly leafing through our girlfriends' fashion magazines.
