

Shriya Saran is an Indian film actress. She was born to Pushpendra Saran and Neeraja Saran on September 11, 1982 in Haridwar. Her father worked for Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. while her mother was a chemistry teacher. Her helping nature had shown up at very young age when she had saved money and donated it to a blind school. She has completed her bachelor degree and is still single.
Shriya’s career actually had its beginning with a music video shot in Banaras. It was through her dance teacher’s recommendation that she availed her first chance, but unfortunately she had to quit college in order to attend the regular shoots. She began her film career in Tollywood (Telugu Cinema) in 2001 with the movie “Ishtam” She got a good recognition for her role “Bhanu” in “Santhosham.” She has acted in mega budget films like ‘Tagore’ opposite Chiranjeevi. ‘Nuvve Nuvve’ opposite Tarun and “Chatrapathi’ with Prabhas were her biggest hits but one of her most significant achievements was her signing against Rajnikanth for ‘Shivaji’.It was budgeted 60 crores. She was also seen in ‘Boss’, ‘Devadasu’ and ‘Tulasi’. Her latest venture was ‘Mallana’. Her Tamil debut ‘Enakku 20 Unakku18 in 2003 was rated to be average.
Shriya’s personal life is as interesting as her looks. To ones surprise the black haired beauty likes to eat chapathi and likes to wear sarees. Her hobbies are dancing and swimming. Haridwar is her favourite place where she prefers to hum her favourite song ‘Main Zindegi Ka Saath Nibhana’. She reads the works of author Jeffery Archer and her favourite book is ‘Gone With the Wind’. ‘Channel 5’ and’ Poison’ are the perfumes she sprays and when it comes to films she picks out Rajnikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachhan, Madhuri dixit and Madhubala as her all time favourites.
