Diya Mirza

Diya Mirza (full name Diya Mirza Handrich, unformerly known as Dia Mirza ), nicknamed Dee, was born on December 9, 1981 in Hyderabad, India.
Diya Mirza is an Indian model and actress and she took part in the Miss India 2000 beauty contest and was second runner up. Diya Mirza won the Miss Asia Pacific 2000 contest.

Biography and Career :

Her father was a German interior designer; her mother is Bengali. They separated when she was six years old. Her father died when she was nine. When living in Khairatabad, Hyderabad, Diya Mirza attended the Vidyaranya, a school based on the teachings of Krishnamurti, and later Nasr School, in Kushnuma [1]. Later, she moved to Bhandra, Mumbai.

At the age of 16 Diya Mirza was working as a marketing executive at sriven Mult-tech in Hyderabad.

She earned a monthly salary of Rs 5000, with a 15 per cent commision on every ad revenue she fetched for the company.

Diya Mirza has done an advertising campaign which appeared in femina. After the pictures came out she was encouraged to participate in the Miss India competition.
Her confidence belies her status in the industry. But it is her keen sense of direction and her intrinsic intelligence which makes her so poised and confident. She's all of 20 and yet has accomplished so much.

Diya Mirza made her film debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein opposite Madhavan. The film was not a box office success. A series of unsuccessful films followed, among them Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Deewanapan. In 2005 Diya Mirza appeared in supporting roles in two hit films: Parineeta and Dus. In 2006, she will be seen in Fight Club and Kabhi Bhi Kahin Bhi.

For a 20 year old Diya Mirza has accomplished so much, but her dream has only just begun.
