Pakhi's original name is Punarnava Mehta. She changed her name to Pakhi for her debut film, Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai.
Pakhi is married to director Abbas Tyrewala. They met during the shooting of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, in which she was looking after the casting. Apparently, Imran Khan's teacher in school, Pakhi's mother, had recommended Pakhi and that was how she landed the job of casting in JTYJN.
Pakhi is cast opposite John Abraham in the film Jhoota Hi Sahi.
It is rumoured that she has gotten a lip job done to enhance her looks. She was apparently earlier unhappy with her thin upper lip.

Pakhi exudes infectious enthusiasm. However, once she starts talking, she reveals her pre-release jitters. “As soon as the films promos went on air, I disconnected myself from all social networking sites. I don’t want to know about any reactions. I am very nervous,” she states honestly.
Now, Tyrewala has recorded a ‘dandiya’ track with Rahman again just after the composer’s return from the US tour. And keeping the festival in mind, the director has just wrapped up the film’s shoot with a pacy dandiya track.
